The Look Catwalk Show

Friday was easily one of the most amazing days ever. Not only did I get to go to the Look Catwalk Show but I also got to see two of my favourite models in the flesh, walking down the catwalk. The wonderful plus size model Hayley Morley and the ever so inspirational Crystal Renn.

Hayley Morley wearing Monsoon Fusion

The event showcased some of the High Streets best retailers all previewing their A/W10 collections. Some of the outfits were absolutely stunning but I have to say my top retailer was Marks and Spencer. I thought their outfits were the most eye catching and there are definately some pieces that I'll be getting to for fill my Winter Wardrobe

I did particulary like one of Hayley's outfits that was from Next. A pair of leather trousers teamed with a grey knit jumper and faux fur leopard print coat. This is one look I will definately be trying for the season.

River Island went for a very Equestrian look with this gold cut out dress and riding hat which was one of the outfits that really stood out.

Other retailers that showed at the event included Warehouse, H'n'M, Oasis, Mango and New Look who all got their five minutes of fame down the catwalk.

Hayley definately caught some attention in New Look

There were many celebs at the event who I managed to spy, all looking very dapper! Including Callum Best, Danielle Linekar, Lucie Jones, Ali Bastian, Diana Vickers, Gabriella Cilmi and the very lovely Joe McElderry who even gave me a cheeky peck and the ever so stunning Keisha Buchanan, ex Sugababe, who was easily one of the nicest celebrities I think I've ever met. The Look goody bags were also a highlight of the event including a knitted hat from Dorothy Perkins, Burt Bee's Lipbalm, Benefit Lipstick, nail varnish from the new Accessorize make up range and a wonderful pendant from 'Hannah Makes Things' (and thats not even half of it!).

All in all a FANTASTIC show and I'm already looking forward to the next one from S/S11 ;)

"In 1974 because of Carlo's new found love, 'Bertie' was created"

Last Wednesday night I was one of the many lucky Bloggers to be invited down to the Bertie Event at their store on South Molton street. Not being to familiar with the brand I was so surprised to witness what I saw when I got there. Having being greeted with a Beer and a very smiley Jo (A PR and Marketing Executive at Bertie) I knew I was in for a treat.

The store had a wicked cabin feel to it and felt like a cosy Winter shoe basement that should have been tucked away somewhere in snowy Canada rather than in middle of rainy Bond Street in London. The first thing to catch my eye, were these beauts which my lovely friend Jinny of 'Running in Platforms' straight away slipped her feet into.

I think you'll agree these are absolutely stunning. Not something I would personally wear - as much as I'd love to if I was a bit shorter with smaller feet but they did look amazing on Jinny. Another pair of beauties which were to catch my eye where these amazing Fairisle boots. I absolutely adore fairisle print and seeing these badboys actually made me look quite forward to the colder Winter months and dig out my chunky knits to accompany these.

After recently purchasing my very first pair of wedges I was delighted to see some of the gorgeous ones that Bertie had to offer. Perfect with jeans and a tee for the day or a little black number for the evening! I was gutted when they didn't have my size in them but I am definately going back again to try them on.

As the evening went on the event was becoming packed out with Bloggers all keen to give their views on the amazing Bertie collection and grab their free pair of shoes. Yes, I did just say FREE PAIR OF SHOES. I have never seen so many girls squeal over so many shoes and trying on different pairs. There was no limit as to what each of us could take away. It was literally the best pick 'n' mix ever, from ballet shoes to brogues and from knee high boots to Prada-esque heeled platforms every girl went away with a smile on her face. I personally opted for a pair of blood red brogues with purple velvet laces. One of the most beautiful pair of shoes I think I own! Congrats on an amazing collection Bertie and I will without a doubt be back soon for more.

We LOVE Bertie!

Normally, Bertie would not be my first point of call for footwear, but after seeing these amazing campaign images of what they have in store of Autumn/Winter '10 I think I am going to have to rethink my decision. The campaign is set in an old Fish 'n' Chip shop in East London showing a group of friends having fun and frolicks in the area. The boots in the campaign have certainly caught my eye and that's not all the collection has to offer. Studded Brogues, Buckled Biker Boots and Platform wedges all make an appearence at Bertie this season and I am one of the lucky Bloggers attending the Bloggers event at their South Molton Street tomorrow so come back to 'These Girls Turn Heads' for a more in depth review.

Roll on A/W10

Hello!
Again, its been a while since my last post. I promise I am going to write more, its just I came back from holiday and then started my new job so everythings a-go-go at the moment. I did actually take some outfit photos on my holiday which I will upload soon, as at the moment they are still sitting on my camera.

I am going to do a few A/W round ups in the next couple of weeks but after seeing some previews in other blogs there is one retailer I feel needs a first and special mention and that is Evans.

When I was younger and finding it really hard to find "trendy" clothes Evans would always be my first port of call, but, their clothes were often frumpy and more aimed at the older bigger woman. But over recent years they have really come up trumps and their Autumn/Winter collection is full of the most gorgeous pieces I have ever seen. I want to shake the hands of all the Evans designers and congratulate them on doing us bigger girls proud. I never thought I would be so pleased for Summer to end, but I just cannot wait to get my hands on some of these amazing pieces.

First up shoes & boots....

Black Wrapover Brogues £25 (available online now)
Grey Lace Up Ankle Boots £35 (available online now)
Lace Up Wedge Boot £35 (coming soon)

After purchasing the floral jumpsuit from ASOS Curve I now have a slight obssession with them. They are actually a really nice fit and look amazing teamed with a tan belt and pair of Espadrilles. And whilst scouting the Evans website came across this little gem as well. Perfect to carry on through to A/W and team with the above Lace Up Wedge Boots.

Black Jersey Playsuit £35 (available online now)

Over the past few weeks it seemed everywhere I looked I was seeing girls in animal print hareems. Teamed with a simple white vest top and blazer I am absolutely loving this look. And yep you guessed it, Evans haven't failed me and have come up this wonderful printed pair....

Animal Twill Trousers £27 (available online now)

And now the key Autumn/Winter pieces that I cannot wait to get my little hands on. Evans, once again I salute you.

Dark Choc Aviator Jacket £65

Leopard Fur Coat £69.50

Longline Sequin Blouse £49.50

Mint Jaquard Dress £55

Paisley Longline Tiered Top £37

Now all I need is one of these and I'll be all set for A/W ;)

Has anyone else got any favourite pieces from the collection? If so, do share girls! xxxx

We're going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo, How about you, you, you?

I know its been a long while since my last post, truth is I've been so busy working my socks off for this interview on Thursday that 'These Girls Turn Heads' has taken a back seat. Plus, its holiday time for me this Saturday- awuhu! But as soon as I'm back in London Town the blogging is being hit hardcore. For now though I've been wondering what to write in this entry and then looked down at my gigantic Monkey ring on my finger and finally found my inspiration... animals!

Those of you that know me well will know that I am a sucker for Accessories. Especially over the top, statement jewellery. I just love it. Infact I'd say my jewellery collection is a hundred times bigger than my clothes collection (had to believe I know) so I have been scouting my favourite websites to bring you some gorgeous animals pieces that I've had my eye on and recommend them to you guys. It doesn't just stop at jewellery I've also found a few gorgeous tees and tops to tickle your fancy.

Working at the Monsoon/Accessorize Press Office I glance the showroom everyday which is full of wonderful gems and can tell you that the animal trend is not going anywhere for A/W10. So make sure you start stocking up pronto!

First up these gorgeous bargains from ASOS. At only a fiver per set- whats not to love? The earrings are a pick and mix so you can wear different animals in each ear and for the ring set I suggest stacking them one on top of the other, the more the merrier. And dainty charms rings are all over the place at the moment. Last weeks Grazia featured a piece on ring stacking and I couldn't agree more. Layer these bad boys up!

Next up from Topshop is this beautiful Bug Print Tee. The perfect baggy crop top for the summer. I own many of these style tops from Topshop and they are perfect to sling on over a denim or gladiator dress in the Summer if you wanna hide those bingo wings ;)

Bug Print Tee. Topshop. £25

Also from 'Tee and Cake' at Topshop is this fabulous Eagle print tshirt. I've fallen a bit in love with 'Tee and Cake' ever since purchasing their Coco Chanel and Marilyn Monroe quote tshirts. These are such a gorgeous fit and are nice and baggy to wear during these hot summer days. Going with the tribal trend this little number is ticking all the boxes for me.

Dickie Bow Bird Tee by Tee and Cake. Topshop. £22

Now I know Summer isn't over, only just started infact but I couldn't resist sharing with you this amazing knitted tshirt from ASOS. It looks like something Grandma has made and is perfect for the chilly Summer evenings. I'm absolutely loving the Cat embellishment on this and think it will look beaut with a pair of denim shorts or rose print leggings. Give it a go!

Curve cat Knitted Tshirt. ASOS Curve. £32

Evans is never failing to amaze me recently and apparently all us plus size girls are in for a right treat with their A/W10 collection. I saw a beautiful picture of the gorgeous Sakina (Saks in the City) wearing an amazing sheepskin hooded Aviator jacket at the YFF conference and I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on that. But for now I shall just stick to this oh-so-on-trend Owl top. This is definately going in my basket next time I'm on the website.

Owl Studded Motif T-shirt. £29.50. Evans

Next up I bring you some of the jewellery that I drool over everyday at work. Accessorize has some real beauties coming into stores in the next few months but lucky for you guys all of these gems are available online now. Make like Alexa and pile up these pendants one by one- all you'll need is the Mulberry bag to accompany your look (also on my wish list- Birthday is two months away so a girl can dream) Accessorize is a one stop shop for all your animal inspired jewellery. Here are my top three:

Elephant Pendant. £6

Novelty Dog Pendant. £8

Gerry Giraffe Long Pendant. £9

So there we have it. My animal round up! I hope you've enjoyed reading girls and get stacking those rings and piling on those pendants!! I shall now leave you with one last gem. Seeing as I've haven't got the baby pink Mulberry laptop case, I will have to put this animal and rose printed one into my shopping bag from Accessorize. Because Macbooks need to travel around in style as well ;)

See you next time ladies xxx

SALE! SALE! SALE!

So, its nearly July and we all know what that means. The Summer Sales have finally started. I have managed to have a quick browse through the rails and have to say I haven't been to impressed. Most shops tend to look like jumble sales and that just puts you off looking, so once again, we resort to online shopping. One of my many loves and I've come across a few little gems to share with you all.

First off this gorgeous Peacock tshirt from ASOS.com. We are seeing Birds everywhere at the moment, and bird print is one of THE prints to be seen in this Summer. Miu Miu have perfected this down to a tee but I have to say I am absolutely loving this Peacock number. Cool and bright perfect for these gorgeous Summer days we've been having and only at £8 its a bargain.

Next up from ASOS we've got this lovely Oversized Drop Armhole Dress. I have been lusting after this dress for weeks and now its finally in clearance for only £15. It looks so light and comfortable. Team with some gold sandals for day or over the top heels and a blazer for night and its the perfect day-to-night dress.

Shoulder detail t-shirts are absolutely everywhere and a definate must have. This one from Dorothy Perkins is perfect if your going for the Nautical look as well as having the beautiful detail on the sleeves. Personally I think I'd wear it tucked into a high waisted skirt but you can go for a simple look with shorts or hareem pants. £12

Looking for the perfect Summer tea dress? Well, wait no more. This ditsy floral number, only £25 is perfect for those long Summer days drinking cider in the park or chilling in the garden with friends. Mix it up with a pair of Gladiator sandals and a satchel to give yourself that Festival feel ;)

I have definately saved the best till last and think I'll most certainly be purchasing these beauties for my upcoming holiday. These shorts from the New Look Inspire range are ticking all the right boxes for me. Not to short and plenty of room in the leg, they are the perfect holiday partner and at only £16, what are you waiting for?

I'm off to the checkouts girls! See you there... xx
