The one where we had a taste of Summer.

You've got the love the British "Summertime" it disappears as quickly as it arrives and leaves us all reaching back into our wardrobes for jeans and jumpers. I had a sort through some clothes last week when the sun arrived, piling my knit jumpers and tights to the back of the wardrobe thinking I wouldn't need to see them again for a while - how wrong I was.

I've said before I absolutely hate getting my legs out. They are just one of many part of me I'm overly conscious of, but sometimes you've just got to go with the flow and not worry. So here's me embracing them this week during the heatwave. This skirt isn't even short so I'm not sure why I was so paranoid. This was another ASOS purchase I made a month or so ago and is one of the absolute favourites. I did actually wear it with tights the first time but it didn't feel quite right as it did with bare legs. I love the shades and bright neons along with the lace. There is an under skirt but this is SO short and barely covers my bum so I've added a longer one to it. The denim jacket is something I found amongst the rails of vintage clothing at The East End Thirft Store in Stephny Green for £15! (Bargain). Some of the studs are missing on it but I just think that adds more character. I've hardly taken this off since I wore it as there's just something about light wash denim.

Swan. Clements Ribeiro for Evans

On Monday afternoon I was invited to the Evans showroom along with some other fabulous bloggers to view the new Clements Ribeiro Swan collection. I'm not really sure what I was expecting to be honest but I was excited by the fact that high end designers would be creating a range for a plus size retailer (which I don't think has ever been done before?).

The prints in this collection are stunning. On arrival (and after knocking over a glass whilst saying hi to the lovely LaCara) I flicked through the rails to see what was on offer. Whilst some of the clothing wasn't to my personal taste, I can imagine every item is going to sell out quickly. It's so refreshing to plus sized clothing in bright, bold and beautiful prints and steering away from the dark and dismal (which Evans is sometimes known for).

Commenting on the collection Inacio Ribeiro said;
"For our first range we addressed the different body shapes, with styles which are accessible but modern, with an emphasis on prints and femininity. It was our starting point, understanding different proportions and different needs behind a desire for fashion that is not different from the high fashion consumer. Far from being apologetic or patronising, we celebrated curves and voluptuousness".

Two of my favourite pieces from the collection. The second dress is such a stunning print but the material put me off as it felt like a swimming costume and I think it would just cling in all the wrong places. But it was these that will definitely have me reaching for my debit card on Friday morning when the collection goes online...

How amazing are these match stick pyjama trousers? I seriously cannot wait to get these on. I've been looking for a pair of pyjamas trousers and my heart did stop slightly when I saw these. Plain white t-shirt and a long line blazer and I reckon I'm good to go.

I'm wearing:
T-Shirt: Topshop
Jeans: New Look
Sequin Jacket; Edie Mac
Pumps: Topshop

I love this top and trousers. I actually think I might be brave and purchase both to see if I can pull off a whole head to toe pyjama look (watch this space). The Swan collection goes live on www.evans.co.uk on Friday - just in time for payday and hits stores on Monday.

One last thing I simply had to share. How AMAZING are these afro comb earrings I spotted on Deena

Marni Heaven

You're probably bored of reading lots of blog posts about the Marni collection at H'n'M but I just wanted to quickly share my own little piece of Marni goodness that I managed to nab on the day (with the help of Pearl). The Fashion Gods were truly watching over me the moment I bumped into her. To be honest, the clothes didn't interest me that much because I knew they'd be in smaller sizes but the jewellery however did excite me. We all know I'm a sucker for a huge statement piece and Marni certainly didn't disappoint.

This necklace is amazing. Probably one of the nicest pieces I own and sits nicely alongside my Tatty Devine lobster necklace (not together around my neck obviously). I especially love the huge diamante stones which are slightly hidden amongst the perspex twisted leaves. Obviously I wore this the day after I got it!

Oh and yes, here's ANOTHER new pleated Maxi skirt. The silk material on this beauty from Marks and Spencer is lovely though.

Why I love Sequins

There's 2 things that I absolutely love in life. The Royal Family (weird, I know) and sequins. (Actually 3 if you include Ryan Gosling!). I've just finished watching the live stream show of the Ashish AW12 collection and my are we in for a treat next season. If I could wear head to toe sequins all day every day then I would and Ashish has confirmed everything I love about those tiny bits of sparkle.

A few weeks ago I was browsing the More! magazine blog and came across a website called Edie Mac. They are a website who specialise in statement, vintage pieces. The products are sourced from all over the globe and include knitwear, dresses, skirts and trousers, BUT, it was the trophy jackets section which caught my eye and lead me to this little beauty.

I've got a statement sequin jacket which I found in Rokit in Covent Garden last year. Yeah, I spend my nights getting caught on other people's clothing and my friends refer to me as "MJ" everytime I wear it but I love it and it really makes a boring outfit stand out. Now, the problem with vintage sequin pieces is that eventually the sequins do start to fall off (sadly MJ is withering away) so it was time to invest in a new piece.

I wore mine last week for our Press Show at work and everyone seemed to like it. Paired with a pair of skinny jeans and a cat print blouse (taking some inspiration from Victoria Beckham there) I really like the clash of prints.

Be sure to check out the rest of the collection on the Edie Mac website. I've got my eye on this one next!

Elle Style Awards 2012

Last Monday, I arrived at work to be told I would be attending The Elle Style Awards on behalf of the company. Erm, WHAT. It's 9am on a Monday morning and I've just been told I'll be spending the evening smoozing (is that even a word?) with some of fashion's finest. Last year Blake Lively, Alexa Chung, Henry Holland, Emma Watson AND David Gandy attended and after checking this year's line up frantically after I was told, I was definitely in for a treat.

I opted to wear my Very dress teamed with my Miu Miu clutch for the occasion. I was slightly concerned that everyone there would be dressed in head to toe designer but I spotted some Topshop and ASOS getting down on the dancefloor and received a few compliments on my dress from people who couldn't believe where it was from. My manager and I arrived at the Savoy around 10pm and waited in a queue to get into the party and as I looked down this rather glam lady was walking up the stairs towards me dressed in a beautiful fur coat, turns out it was Naomi Campbell. Yep, one of the world's biggest super models just grazes past me. So casual. I was trying to keep my cool but to be honest, I was screaming and fan girling slightly inside.

As we sipped on mini bottles of Moet and chilli martinis (sounds gross, but they were delish!) we were treated to a performance from the gorgeous Emeli Sande who was joined on stage by none other than Professor Green (OH MY GOD). I have to say, I've always fancied him but he's even hotter in the flesh and really lovely. The DJ's on the night were playing some amazing tunes and there were celebrities everywhere I looked. We took a peek into the grand room where the actual awards were held and it was beautiful. I really need a nights stay in The Savoy!

Oh hello Eddie Redmayne!

The amazing goody bag which included: Elizabeth Arden 8 hour face cream, Vivienne Westwood perfume, a Next gift card, OPI Nail Varnish, Benefit Mascara, iPhone case and an amazing Valentine's Lola's cupcake.

If you want to check out the winners on the night, Catwalk Queen has done a round up. Massive thank you to Elle for putting on such a fantastic event. I won't be forgetting it any time soon.

Spice Up Your Life...

So on Saturday morning I woke up to the news that the Spice Girls would be reforming for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Two of my favourite things becoming one (yes, going to see how many Spice Girl puns I can fit into a post) The Spice Girls and The Royals. One of my favourite members of Team Spice, now turned  fashionista has launched her new collection, which is making me 'wannabe' just like her. Okay, I'll stop now.

My favourite pieces from VB's collection are the cat print dress and the scallop trim pink dress. So imagine my delight when I discovered Asda are doing their own version of Posh for a measly £16! What a bargain. Now all we need is the handbags, the shoes, the cars, the LA mansion and not forgetting the HOT HOT HOT husband (god bless H'n'M for THAT advert).

Pretty Pastels.

I'm getting a bit addicted to very.co.uk ever since setting up my account. Beware though folks, it's pretty easy to get confused and instead of paying straight away on my card I *somehow* managed to set up a credit account and next minute I had £700 to spend (VERY dangerous). After this transaction though I'm going to be sure to pay off my debts to Very and switch the account.

I'd seen some images of Fearne Cotton's catwalk show a while back and checked out her range along with Holly's. To be totally honest, not much caught my eye except from a pastel yellow pleated skirt (yeah, like I need another one) and a heart print jumper. The next day both arrived, the skirt looked absolutely awful on me but the jumper was lovely. I wore it yesterday with my light pink maxi from Primark and some converse. It's so cosy and didn't lose shape at all (you know how sometimes with thinner jumpers the arms tend to go a slightly baggy - or is that just me?).

Jumper: Fearne Cotton for Very.co.uk
Skirt: Primark
Converse trainers
Chanel necklace: Portobello Road
Peace Necklace: Claire's Accessories
Rings: Accessorize, Boots, H'n'M and Jessie Western

I also bought the orange pocket maxi skirt as seen on Clare but it looked no where near as nice on me as it does on Clare. She's one of my favourite bloggers and has incredible style. I'm so looking forward to Spring now and getting my pastel on alot more!
