The Look Catwalk Show

Friday was easily one of the most amazing days ever. Not only did I get to go to the Look Catwalk Show but I also got to see two of my favourite models in the flesh, walking down the catwalk. The wonderful plus size model Hayley Morley and the ever so inspirational Crystal Renn.

The event showcased some of the High Streets best retailers all previewing their A/W10 collections. Some of the outfits were absolutely stunning but I have to say my top retailer was Marks and Spencer. I thought their outfits were the most eye catching and there are definately some pieces that I'll be getting to for fill my Winter Wardrobe

I did particulary like one of Hayley's outfits that was from Next. A pair of leather trousers teamed with a grey knit jumper and faux fur leopard print coat. This is one look I will definately be trying for the season.

River Island went for a very Equestrian look with this gold cut out dress and riding hat which was one of the outfits that really stood out.

Other retailers that showed at the event included Warehouse, H'n'M, Oasis, Mango and New Look who all got their five minutes of fame down the catwalk.

Hayley definately caught some attention in New Look

There were many celebs at the event who I managed to spy, all looking very dapper! Including Callum Best, Danielle Linekar, Lucie Jones, Ali Bastian, Diana Vickers, Gabriella Cilmi and the very lovely Joe McElderry who even gave me a cheeky peck and the ever so stunning Keisha Buchanan, ex Sugababe, who was easily one of the nicest celebrities I think I've ever met. The Look goody bags were also a highlight of the event including a knitted hat from Dorothy Perkins, Burt Bee's Lipbalm, Benefit Lipstick, nail varnish from the new Accessorize make up range and a wonderful pendant from 'Hannah Makes Things' (and thats not even half of it!).

All in all a FANTASTIC show and I'm already looking forward to the next one from S/S11 ;)

"In 1974 because of Carlo's new found love, 'Bertie' was created"

Last Wednesday night I was one of the many lucky Bloggers to be invited down to the Bertie Event at their store on South Molton street. Not being to familiar with the brand I was so surprised to witness what I saw when I got there. Having being greeted with a Beer and a very smiley Jo (A PR and Marketing Executive at Bertie) I knew I was in for a treat.

The store had a wicked cabin feel to it and felt like a cosy Winter shoe basement that should have been tucked away somewhere in snowy Canada rather than in middle of rainy Bond Street in London. The first thing to catch my eye, were these beauts which my lovely friend Jinny of 'Running in Platforms' straight away slipped her feet into.

I think you'll agree these are absolutely stunning. Not something I would personally wear - as much as I'd love to if I was a bit shorter with smaller feet but they did look amazing on Jinny. Another pair of beauties which were to catch my eye where these amazing Fairisle boots. I absolutely adore fairisle print and seeing these badboys actually made me look quite forward to the colder Winter months and dig out my chunky knits to accompany these.

After recently purchasing my very first pair of wedges I was delighted to see some of the gorgeous ones that Bertie had to offer. Perfect with jeans and a tee for the day or a little black number for the evening! I was gutted when they didn't have my size in them but I am definately going back again to try them on.

As the evening went on the event was becoming packed out with Bloggers all keen to give their views on the amazing Bertie collection and grab their free pair of shoes. Yes, I did just say FREE PAIR OF SHOES. I have never seen so many girls squeal over so many shoes and trying on different pairs. There was no limit as to what each of us could take away. It was literally the best pick 'n' mix ever, from ballet shoes to brogues and from knee high boots to Prada-esque heeled platforms every girl went away with a smile on her face. I personally opted for a pair of blood red brogues with purple velvet laces. One of the most beautiful pair of shoes I think I own! Congrats on an amazing collection Bertie and I will without a doubt be back soon for more.

We LOVE Bertie!

Normally, Bertie would not be my first point of call for footwear, but after seeing these amazing campaign images of what they have in store of Autumn/Winter '10 I think I am going to have to rethink my decision. The campaign is set in an old Fish 'n' Chip shop in East London showing a group of friends having fun and frolicks in the area. The boots in the campaign have certainly caught my eye and that's not all the collection has to offer. Studded Brogues, Buckled Biker Boots and Platform wedges all make an appearence at Bertie this season and I am one of the lucky Bloggers attending the Bloggers event at their South Molton Street tomorrow so come back to 'These Girls Turn Heads' for a more in depth review.
